Mode of Singles Event:

The Singles tournament was conducted according to Swiss System with 11 rounds.

Final matches (position 1 vs. position 2) were played:
Best of three games, each game of 8 boards or 25 points. In case the opponents allready met in the main tournament, this game constituted the first of the final games.


Mode of Doubles Event:

The Doubles tournament was conducted according to Swiss System with 7 rounds.

Final match (position 1 vs. position 2) was played:
1 game of 25 points without board limit.


Mode of Team Event:

The members of the national teams had to be defined before the tournament and must had passports of the nation they represented. During the tournament, the national players wore separate trikots in order to distinguish the national players from other participants of their country. This was important for spectators and the press and stressed out the importance of the team event.

For the final ranking, the national team player's results from the single-event as well as from the double-event have been added up. Therefore the members of the national team had to form two doubles. Mixed doubles consisting of national and non-national team players were not allowed. After every round the results of the national teams have been visualised, easy to be noticed by every participant of the tournament.
